How it works
The tool computes nominal battery energy as E = capacity in ampere-hours × voltage in volts, producing watt-hours. It then divides watt-hours by 1,000 to report kilowatt-hours.
Assumptions & limits
- Treats the entered voltage and ampere-hour rating as fixed nominal values; it does not model voltage sag or discharge curves.
- Does not account for efficiency, usable depth of discharge, temperature, ageing or discharge-rate effects.
§
FAQ
- Why does Ah multiplied by V give Wh?
- An ampere-hour is electric charge; multiplying charge capacity by voltage gives energy capacity in watt-hours.
